Mavis Fitzgerald is a strategic-communication expert with more than 15 years of experience. She takes a creative approach to problem-solving and execution of project communications. Her focus is always to help clients aligning project goals with their business and organizational outcomes.
Mavis has developed and implemented numerous multifaceted marketing and outreach programs for clients in the private, public and non-profit sectors. She has extensive experience addressing issues of mobility, growth and development, particularly in the Rocky Mountain West’s mountain and more-rural areas.
Mavis joined GBSM from a western-Colorado communications firm where she specialized in mapping the communications landscape, advancing her clients’ visions and business objectives with insight-based strategies for each initiative or project. She led an array of projects for western-slope and front-range communities that included community engagement, branding and communications on issues including higher education, municipal governance, drought-preparedness, land use and mobility.
She has also designed and ran statewide education and outreach initiatives, such as a Low Head Dam safety education for the Colorado Department of Natural Resources. This is a multi-year wildlife interaction and trail closure compliance campaign in coordination with Pitkin County and Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
Mavis has also held in-house domestic and international marketing and public-relations positions responsible for creating and activating brand, retail, and consumer campaigns and public relations initiatives. This includes the implementation of product launches and major media campaigns. Mavis is a mountain sport enthusiast who enjoys Colorado’s western slope skiing and single-track.
