Mavis Fitzgerald

Mavis Fitzgerald is a strategic communications expert with more than 15 years of experience, particularly addressing mobility, growth and development issues in the Rocky Mountain West’s rural areas. She takes a creative approach to problem solving and execution of project communications.
Mavis has developed and implemented numerous multifaceted marketing and outreach programs for private, public and non-profit clients. Her focus is always to help clients align project goals with their business and organizational outcomes.
Mavis joined GBSM from a western Colorado communications firm where she specialized in mapping the communications landscape, advancing her clients’ visions and business objectives with insight-based strategies for each initiative. She led various projects for western slope and front range communities that involved community engagement, branding and communications related to higher education, municipal governance, drought-preparedness, land use and mobility.
Mavis has also held in-house domestic and international marketing and public relations positions responsible for creating and activating brand, retail and consumer campaigns and public relations initiatives. This includes the implementation of product launches and major media campaigns.
While at GBSM, Mavis has managed strategic planning, communications, and outreach efforts for public infrastructure, transportation and community growth projects in the state’s western region.
When she isn’t focusing on thoughtful and supported growth in the mountain communities, she takes full advantage of all they have to offer the outdoor adventurer. Mavis is a mountain sport enthusiast who enjoys Colorado’s western slope skiing and single-track.
