
Kayleigh Cornell
ASSOCIATE
Kayleigh Cornell specializes in government and public affairs with particular emphasis on policy analysis and development, technical research and writing, issue advocacy, stakeholder engagement and strategic communications. Leveraging her knowledge of energy, natural resources and local affairs policy, Kayleigh brings analytical thinking and a strategic mindset to navigate complex issues.
Focusing her expertise in advocacy and strategic development, Kayleigh has successfully engaged with stakeholders and community members on a number of statewide and local issues. A Gold Award Girl Scout turned Mentor, Kayleigh appreciates the value of community. She has a passion for listening to a wide variety of perspectives and building consensus through problem solving and common ground initiatives.
Prior to joining GBSM, Kayleigh was the Policy Director for the Colorado House Minority Office where she served state Representatives and their constituents – forming legislation, working on hot button issues and statewide policy development. While there, she produced detailed analysis of all proposed legislation and developed strong relationships with legislators, executive branch policy experts, activists and other non-governmental stakeholders to foster collaboration. Focusing on reaching across the aisle, Kayleigh played a crucial role in developing common sense solutions to benefit all Coloradoans – businesses, agencies, communities and other stakeholders.
Kayleigh holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Outside of work, Kayleigh enjoys spending time outside with her dog, dancing, reading and traveling the globe. Born in Colorado, Kayleigh sits on the Gold Award committee for Girl Scouts of Colorado.
