Kaylie Showers is a communications specialist with a drive to build lasting partnerships. Her experience working in the public and private sectors have tailored her ability to strategically engage diverse communities, navigate complex government processes and leverage legislative policy.
Prior to joining GBSM, Kaylie worked for the City and County of Denver’s Agency for Human Rights and Community Partnerships (HRCP). At HRCP, she managed multiple citywide efforts and served as liaison between the Mayor’s Office and the Denver Women’s Commission. She is trained in FEMA Incident Command Systems and served in the City’s Emergency Operations Center during the dual 2020 activation for the pandemic and civil unrest. Kaylie has also served as the Healthy Living Program Coordinator for the Denver Housing Authority. In that role, she championed community health by managing the Healthy Living Initiative for the nationally recognized, mixed-income Mariposa housing development in West-Central Denver.
Kaylie serves on the Advisory Board for Bank On Denver, a project of the Colorado Non-Profit Development Center that aims to generate financial health and well-being through intentional community partnerships. As a community advocate, she regularly volunteers for other Denver non-profits, including Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains as a Cultural Mentor in their Refugee Resettlement program.
A proud Colorado native, Kaylie graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Economics. She enjoys all the outdoor adventures that Colorado offers including hiking, biking, snowboarding, paddle-boarding, and tubing down Boulder Creek. As an accomplished musician, singer and songwriter, you’ll often find her watching live music when she’s not making her own.
