Alex Ehrett specializes in public affairs, public involvement, and strategic communications for clients in the public, quasi-governmental, and private sectors. Her strategic communication skills are rooted in her experience working on behalf of local governments, higher education institutions, nonprofits, and small businesses. She is skilled in developing strong stakeholder relationships, managing complex policy agendas at the local, state, and federal level, and creating persuasive messaging to help clients achieve their goals.
Prior to joining GBSM, Alex worked as an Associate at a public affairs and strategic communications firm in Cleveland, Ohio. While there she managed external communications for local governments and their leadership, represented the largest non-profit energy aggregator in the United States to the state and federal government, and secured over $8 million in grants, loans, and tax credits for clients. Alex is an experienced navigator of local, state, and federal levels of government and provides meaningful insight to the often murky, complex regulatory environment associated with public partnerships.
Her work has focused on helping communities plan, fund, and execute transformative projects while building and maintaining consensus among residents. She has a deep understanding of the dynamic relationships involved in working with local communities and is experienced in building consensus among Mayoral Administrations, Councils, Appointed Boards and Commissions, and Regional Planning Organizations to bring projects to life.
Alex graduated from John Carroll University with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
