Principals

John Baron - Founder & President, GBSM

Recognized as a top communications and organizational strategist, John provides counsel to some of the nation's leading corporations and nonprofit organizations. He is an expert in organizational positioning and strategy development, crisis and issues management, corporate communications and media and political strategy.

John co-founded GBSM in 1986, and built it into the region's leading management strategy and communications firm.  Previously, he served as press secretary to U.S. Senator Paul S. Sarbanes in Washington, D.C., and as City Editor for the Rocky Mountain News in Denver, Colorado, where he directed award-winning special projects coverage.

 

Sharon Sherman - Managing Principal, GBSM

Sharon Sherman has guided many Colorado corporations and non-profit organizations through some of their most significant growth and crisis periods using her recognized expertise in strategic planning, organizational development and crisis and issues management.  She brings to clients the unique combination of experience as a political reporter for The Denver Post, as State Personnel Director and a member of a former Colorado governor’s cabinet, and co-creator and manager of an award-winning public relations agency.  She has served in executive positions on many business and civic boards and is a noted teacher and trainer.

 

Steve Coffin - Principal and Director, Public Affairs & Management Consulting Group

Steve brings to his clients a unique combination of experience as a lawyer at two of Denver’s most respected law firms, former corporate officer of a major Colorado energy company, and senior staff to one of Colorado’s most distinguished elected officials.  Through this breadth of experience, Steve has become a recognized expert in stakeholder communications, organizational positioning, media relations, community relations, crisis and issues management.  He has served as communications counsel to some of Colorado’s leading corporations, non-profits and municipalities.

Steven Silvers is an accomplished corporate affairs, reputation management and crisis communications expert with 25 years experience in dozens of industries and issues.  He has held communications management positions at the Pentagon, Texas Instruments, OgilvyPR, Hill & Knowlton.  Before joining GBSM as director of the firm's corporate affairs group, Steve was founding president of ClarusPR, a leading Denver firm representing emerging growth and technology companies.

Pamela Krider - Principal and Director, Corporate Change Communications and Employee Engagement

Pam is a seasoned communications professional with 25-years of experience in corporations, media and non-profits.  She has built and led communication functions at international Fortune 500 companies including Honeywell, Limited Brands, Motorola, Coors Brewing Company and Qwest.  Her work with senior management has helped companies through times of growth and expansion, downsizing and constriction, branding and cultural transformation, as well as through times of change, reorganization, and crisis.

 

Senior Associates

Tracy Faigin Boyle - Senior Associate, Corporate Affairs & Communications Group

Tracy is a senior associate with GBSM.  With over 10 years experience in a wide range of industries, Tracy’s strengths lie in planning and managing integrated marketing communications programs, including branding and positioning development, marketing research, advertising, promotions and community outreach.

As a senior associate, Tracy’s role includes managing the strategic direction and implementation of a variety of clients’ communication needs.  Currently, one of her primary clients is Porter Hospital, for which she oversees a comprehensive integrated communications effort.  Her responsibilities include managing the branding campaign, advertising, marketing research, collateral and program development for individual medical specialty groups.  Other client work includes Kaiser-Hill, Denver Water, Arapahoe County Water and Wastewater Authority, THF Realty and Opus.

Tracy has a broad range of experiences managing clients in a variety of different industries.  Before joining Sander/GBSM, she worked at a marketing communications agency as an account supervisor managing health care and financial clients. Previously, Tracy was the director of client services at a boutique ad agency, where she launched the first campaign for a new online education company and managed advertising for several sports clients.  Tracy also served as a marketing manager at Copper Mountain Resort, overseeing regional and national advertising and promotions.

Outside of work, Tracy chairs the Shalom Baby Advisory Committee at the Denver Jewish Community Center and is on the marketing advisory board for Jewish Family Service.

Tracy received her Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and her undergraduate degree in Communications and Economics from Northwestern University.

 

Andy Mountain - Senior Associate

Andy Mountain is a proven communications and business consultant with a diverse background including management and senior-consultant positions with Fortune 500 companies, major non-profit associations and large public institutions.  He has established a reputation as a leader on transportation issues in Colorado through his work directing stakeholder and elected-official engagement for a number of large, controversial public-transit projects in the Denver-metro area.  He has also worked extensively on water issues throughout Colorado and as a senior advisor to large corporations and non-profit associations on a range of strategic, organizational and communications matters.

   

Associate

Megan Lane - Associate

Megan is a well-rounded communications professional with a background in journalism, corporate communications, advertising and the non-profit sector.

Prior to joining GBSM, Megan was the special sections editor of the Aspen Daily News, where she oversaw the paper’s weekly business and entertainment sections. Before moving to Aspen, she gained valuable experience as the Regional Public Affairs Coordinator at the Denver Muscular Dystrophy Association.

As an associate, Megan helps to facilitate a wide range of communications programs for GBSM’s clients. Currently, her main responsibility entails helping to implement the public involvement plan for RTD’s Gold Line Light Rail project.

A Colorado native, Megan left her home state to get her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. She had a series of impressive internships during her college summers, including work at Coors Brewing Co., Foote Cone & Belding in San Francisco, and Chicago Parent Magazine.

 

Miles Graham - Associate

Miles comes to GBSM from the outdoor recreation industry. He was a manager of Satellite and Installation, both cutting edge stores in Boulder, Colorado that specialize in progressive snow and skateboard gear and apparel. In that role Miles created unique events and promotions that placed the stores squarely at the center of culture and fashion. During this time Miles also acted as a terrain park design consultant for Beaver Creek Resort and Eldora Mountain. As a production assistant for Mark Seal, one of the nation’s preeminent freelance writers, Miles developed material for Seal’s latest book ‘Celebrated Weekend’. He has also enjoyed success at Nordstrom’s flagship store in downtown Seattle where he was a top salesman in the shoe department.

His strong connection with the outdoors generates a wide range of recreational interests. During the winter months he enjoys all forms of snow sports. In the summer he loves to rock climb, mountain bike, wake and skateboard, hike, golf and camp. He also enjoys reading a good book and seeing live music.

Growing up outside of Minneapolis on a picturesque spring fed trout farm, Miles fashioned intimate relationships with hard work and responsibility at an early age. Star Prairie Trout Farm continues to be the regions premier purveyor of naturally raised Rainbow Trout. His active participation in the management of the enterprise with his mother, father and brother was curtailed upon his move to Colorado to attend college. He returns home every year to promote and coordinate the farm’s annual ‘Trout Fest’ event.

Miles has a Bachelor of Science in Business degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was on the Dean’s List for five semesters.

 

Staff

Raleigh Decker - Director of Operations

Raleigh plays several roles at GBSM, overseeing human resources and office management, and providing administrative support to the Founder & President.

Prior to joining GBSM, Raleigh led the recruiting team at Noble Sander Search as Senior Consultant. There, Raleigh and her team partnered with a variety of corporate, agency and non-profit clients. From creating comprehensive job descriptions and interview questions, to preparing customized reference interviews and managing offer negotiation, Raleigh helped define, articulate and fulfill staffing needs. Before moving to Denver in 2000, Raleigh worked in Chicago as a Human Resources Manager with Frankel, a brand marketing agency. Raleigh’s previous career in Account Services has provided her with a strong foundation in client service and project management.


Outside of GBSM, Raleigh is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Arts and has been a member of Generations Cancer Foundation since 2002. 

Raleigh received her B.S. and M.S. in Advertising from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and originally hails from Hinsdale, IL.

 

Vicki Erfurdt - Senior Accounting Manager

Vicki heads the Accounting Department at GBSM.  In her current role, Vicki manages the overall financial well-being of the firm and is known for her friendly and efficient manner, her proactive problem-solving skills and her results-oriented approach.  She joined the firm in 2003 as Accounting Manager.

Prior to joining GBSM, Vicki held similar positions with Samsonite, eBags.com, and ViaWest.

Outside of work, Vicki is an active member of Generations Cancer Foundation.  She has also volunteered with the Fighting Blindness Foundation.

Vicki attended the University of Toledo and is originally from Toledo, OH.
