Streamlining the NEPA process
with Andy Mountain
At a recent WTS (Women's Transportation Seminar) luncheon, GBSM Principal Andy Mountain led a panel discussion with national and regional experts to discuss efforts to streamline the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process. The NEPA process requires federal projects or projects receiving federal funding to prepare environmental studies to document and avoid/mitigate the environmental effects of the project.
Leveraging his experience in both developing public involvement programs for NEPA projects and counseling private and non-profit entities on maximizing their role NEPA processes, Andy moderated a panel with experts from the Federal Highway Administration, Colorado Department of Transportation and CH2M HILL. The event, attended by more than 50 transportation and environmental experts in Colorado, provided valuable insight into creative and strategic opportunities to expedite a complex process.
